Asphalt Roofing Shingles

Asphalt Shingles are chosen by most home owners as it is cost effective, long lasting and can withstand Calgary’s changing weather cycles. Asphalt Roofing Shingles are made up of a paper felt or fiberglass mat impregnated and coated with hot asphalt creating a waterproof membrane. Installation Process

  1. Decking

Platinum Roofing will inspect your existing wood roof deck. We will replace any rotten or damaged roof deck in order to have acceptable sub straight to install asphalt shingle roof system.

  1. Weather Lock Ice and Water Barrier

Platinum Roofing then install a 3’ ice and water barrier self-adhering membrane at all eves, valleys, chimneys and skylights.

  1. Roof Underlayment

Platinum Roofing then installs an asphalt impregnated paper, fibre glass reinforced tar paper or a high performance underlayment for your piece of mind.

  1. Drip Edge

Platinum Roofing will install a pre painted metal drip edge at eves and rakes.

  1. Starter Shingle or Starter Roll

Platinum Roofing will install starter shingle or strip at eves with a secure seal with a cleaner edge.

  1. Asphalt Shingles

Platinum Roofing will install asphalt shingles in any color with a manufactures limited lifetime warranty and full coverage 10 yr. workmanship warranty.

  1. Ventilation Products

A healthy roof is designed to help moisture and heat build-up escape. Ridge vents are low profile way to ventilate attic space.

  1. Hip and Ridge Shingles

The ridge of roof is where the 2 sides of your roof deck comes to a peak. Platinum Roofing will install a matching colored shingle ridge or hip cap.

I want to start by saying that the entire experience with Platinum Roofing was easy and stress free. Earlier this spring, our family-owned apartment building’s roof started to leak. I did my homework and called a few companies to provide quotes. Platinum’s price was second lowest, but when I called the lowest guy he started talking about all the extras he’d have to add in. He seemed a bit flaky so I spoke to Mark at Platinum Roofing. He explained that (with the exception any rotting wood deck that might be found) his price included all the extras the other guy was trying to add in. The other prices I got were way high so I decided to go with Platinum. The job went very smoothly. Luckily there was no rotten deck, so extra dollars. I spoke with all the commercial tenants we have on the ground floor and a couple of residents that live in the building. All had good things to say about Platinum or they didn’t even notice that Platinum was there. Good job guys! Would definitely use again.
